About Me

A Warm Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Dr. Susan Lark, and I’m the author of a monthly alternative health newsletter called Women’s Wellness Today. I adore sharing my health insights with readers each month, but I felt that it was time to expand my horizons and share my information with those of you who find the majority of your health information on the internet. Many of my patients have explained to me that they do their own independent research online and then come in to see me, equipped with knowledge about their symptoms, possible diagnoses, and treatment options. For those of you who are doing just that, I applaud your initiative and I hope to provide you with the full range of information you need to start living (or keep living) a life full of beauty, energy, and vitality.

My health philosophy is centered on alternative health therapies, which I’ve found to be extremely efficacious in treating everything from the common cold to arthritis. My mission is to provide women with unique, safe, and effective complementary therapies to greatly enhance their health and well-being. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to share with you information ranging from treatments for menopause symptoms to the inside scoop on why traditional hormone replacement therapy is so dangerous and why its natural cousin, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, is the better alternative.

I’m sure you’re interested in learning more about my background in medicine. Rather than go on and on about myself here, I’ll give you some highlights and direct you to my Wikipedia entry for more information.

Biographical Highlights

I received my medical training at Northwestern University Medical School and have devoted a large part of my 33-year-long medical career to treating patients with clinical nutrition and preventive medicine. On top of that, I have been blessed enough to have the opportunity to teach young medical students at the Stanford University Medical School from 1981–1983 as well as in their Division of Family and Community Medicine from 1991–2002. In addition to being a professor, I am a regular author, who has published twelve books, including my most recent, Hormone Revolution.

I’m thrilled that you’ve chosen to open your mind and heart to the world of alternative medicine. I can’t wait to hear what you think. If you have any comments, please feel free to post them underneath each blog entry. Otherwise, check back frequently to get the most up-to-date alternative health information. If you have questions about something that I haven’t yet commented on, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll do my best to incorporate that topic into a future posting.

Thank you again for your visit!

Susan M. Lark, M.D.
